Day at Camogli

Wednesday 18th April

Wow - the hottest day so far!  We caught the bus down into Rapallo and crossed the road to the station and onto a train to Camogli on the other side of the peninsular.  This was not a particularly scenic journey as it was just 10 minutes and mainly through tunnels.  But once we'd walked down lots of steep steps, we had arrived in a very pretty village and seafront. 

 
 
 Today we took our picnic with us and managed to find a little bit of shade on the sea wall near the lighthouse
 
and later relaxed in armchairs at a bar overlooking the beach.  We did a bit of walking too - taking a path the followed the small river up and up through the valley.

 A great deal of the path was actually rugged stone steps, so we needed a rest for the cup of tea that John had been carrying(!)


 

At last, back down into the town again
